Fluidity and Dark Wave Paintings

Fly over the mid section of this country and one becomes aware of ancient courses where the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers have carved their paths from near our northern borders to their exit point into the Gulf of Mexico.  Stretching out from either side are river courses long abandoned by the flood of waters and the resistance of the oxbow’s banks to the easy passage of muddy fluid.

This type of meander is not restricted to the flow of water and is present in the rise of smoke, the exchange of electro-magnetic energy and in the structures of the microscopic realm.

The ‘Flow’ paintings draw their inspiration from the observation of fluid motion and waveform contrasted  against a structure of a crystalline nature. Although my inquiries are not meant to be scientific in their approach, they are analytical in a very personal, expressive and experiential way.
